With showers today, city residents had a much-needed relief from the scorching heat that had been persisting for the last fortnight.
The city recorded 16.4 mm of rainfall today.
Met Director Surinder Pal Singh said it was a withdrawal time for monsoon and the city received showers today owing to humid conditions prevailing in the nearby areas. He said showers were expected on September 19 and 20 as well but would not give much relief to city residents.
According to the Met department, there will be partly cloudy sky tomorrow and no rain. The maximum temperature will be 35 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature will be 24 degree Celsius.
The maximum temperature was recorded at 35 degree Celsius today and the minimum at 26.2 degree Celsius, which is four degrees below normal.
