Over one lakh people will participate in International Yoga Day events in the city as the Administration has started preparations to make the day historic.
Sources said besides holding the main event in which the Prime Minister will attend the yoga session, the Administration was planning to hold parallel functions all over the city simultaneously. This has been planned to give an opportunity to all those who want to be part of the historic event as the Capitol Complex has limited capacity.Home Secretary Anurag Agrawal held a meeting with representatives of yoga training centres and NGOs today. The sources said it was decided that approximately 1,000 teachers would train those interested in teaching yoga to residents further. The classes would be held all over the city, including public parks, community centers and at schools and colleges.The Administration has also written to Punjab and Haryana to ensure the participation of 10,000 persons each.
