Chandigarh, July 30
Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 19, celebrated ‘Van Mahotsava Day’ on the school premises on Monday. DPI (S) S.K. Setia, who was chief guest on the occasion, planted saplings in the school. A two-day workshop on ‘Dealing with learning disability’ was also inaugurated on the occasion.
PRINCIPAL: Prof. Gurdeep Singh has taken over the charge as officiating principal of Guru Gobind Singh College, Sector 26, here. This decision was taken by the working committee meeting of Sikh Educational Society where the senior most lecturer Prof Gurdeep Singh succeeded Dr Kuldeep Singh. The outgoing principal of the college, Dr Kuldeep Singh, has been shifted to the college at Kadian.
AWARENESS CAMP: In order to create awareness about Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) among teachers and students, the Chaitanya Hospital organised educational talks at two schools - St Peter School in Sector 37 and AKSIPS School, here on Monday. ORS is given when a child is suffering from diarrhoea.
TREE PLANTATION: The tiny tots of Chitkara International School, Sector 25, conducted a tree plantation drive around the school, here on Monday. The idea of planting trees came from a Class III student. Principal of the school Niyati Chitkara said the best ideas always came from children.
CAMP: A Scouts and Guides ‘Dvitya Saupan Testing Camp’ began at Kendriya Vidyalaya, GC CRPF, Pinjore, near here, on Sunday. Around 200 participants and 50 escort teachers are taking part in the camp, which will conclude on July 31. The Scouts and Guides flag was hoisted by the principal. A cultural programme was also organised on the occasion.
